The testing process

The testing of a turbocharger is fundamental for a successful development process. Tests are carried out on engine benches and hot gas stands to test the turbocharger in as realistic an environment as possible.

The testing setup consists of engine benches and hot gas stands. The test cell design is aimed at high flexibility in test setup with short turnaround time for exchanging tests. A high degree of automation is used for good reproducibility and 24/7 endurance testing capability.

During the development phase of a turbocharger there will be lots of tests conducted focused on performance and endurance.

Currently, we are expanding our test cells to double our current capacity. The expansion is necessary to accompany the increasing turbo demand and to reduce development lead time.
