Home – Quality Operations Engineer

Meet Martha Hernández Utrera. Martha works at MTEE as a Quality Operations Engineer since 2017. Martha is originally from Mexico and has a background as Industrial Engineer with a Master degree in Business Administration and a specialization in Quality and Productivity.

The essence of my job is to identify problems and narrow them down. I monitor every assembly line in the production and if there is a problem, I will work on solving it together with a team of multidisciplinary colleagues. Together, we will look into the data and observe any deviation during the processes in order to analyze them and this way we can identify possible root causes. Once the root cause has been defined, I will coordinate and validate the corrective and preventive actions. This often means that all lines need to be checked for the same issue.

Part of my job is also to support on customer audits and perform internal audits. Not everyone will be pleased to see that it’s me because I really go into the details. I have received a lot of courses here to become certified to carry out different kinds of audits.

I love many things about this job, but I especially like paying attention to all the little details. Every turbocharger that we manufacture must have 100% traceability and therefore we record a lot of information. The production lines have software, which can monitor every single step. It is really nice to be able to analyze so many different data. And this will only increase in the future.
